Not sure if this is an old car part or what. Found on old road/trail. Hollow and the end is a little crushed.

So for soldering?

Sort of, but welding (heavier duty, hotter). For use with an oxy/acetylene torch, could be used for cutting or just heating the heck out of steel parts too.

Looks about right. Thank you for the i.d. there is a public water supply well nearby. The item probably bounced out of a town truck at some point.
