Trying to Verify History on 1715 Plate Fleet

A quick look through notes and it does seem as if the Toulouse capture was the "1709 HC". The Captain listed in your reference ties it to the 1709 HC.

Also if the "HC" was under French command in 1711 it would not be fighting the French... I do not know at the moment where the "re-took" reference came from. That would actually make sense as per my reference but not for the other.

With all the confusion on the 2 HC's it looks like all research needs to be checked multiple times.

A couple of French references are;
Vaisseaux de Ligne Francais de 1682 a 1767 by Ronald Deschenes

Nomenclature des Navires Français de 1661 à 1715 by Alain Demerliac

The Hampton Court was utilized for trade purposes between Spain and France
before it was sold in 1712 (Archives Nationales, Paris, Marine B/7/12).

Hope that helps!

the dutch "prize" was a vessel taken by Echeverz's patache type vessels for illegal trading -- it goes by several different names -- HOLANDESA , SENOR DE LA POPA , SAN MIGUAL, THE "DUTCH PRIZE"

I have a question hope someone can give there best guess..

Let's say you find ALL 8 chest that the Queen's Jewels was in, and it was proof that you indeed had the REAL DEAL, how much do you think they would be worth??

Thanks!!!!!

Money wise... Obviously quite valuable but jail time wise, even higher![emoji1][emoji1][emoji1]

Unless of course it was recovered legally... [emoji6]
