Trying to ID this 14k Gold ring.

So it looks old. it was found at an old school and i have found 40's and 50's silver around the same area. The mark on the inside says "14K" then what looks like a W on its side. Wondering what this means (i think it means Karat Weight, but not sure why its on its side) or if can date the ring. Thanks for the help!
