This was in a box of WWII memorabilia that I purchased at an estate sale a couple of months ago. There was nothing in the box that was dated after 1945 (except maybe this?). Items included were, many foreign coins, photos, postcards and Relics taken from German Soldiers. This is the only oddball thing that was in the box. It is slightly larger than a half-dollar. It measures 30mm in diameter and 1.5mm thick. It appears to be made of brass. What do you think?

I'd suggest that this might be an example of what is variously called "Spiel Marke", jeton, or game counter. They were used as poker chips might be used nowadays, were generally produced and used in Europe, but many found their way across the pond. I know close to zero about them, but there are lots of Internet resources that might help. Surely someone somewhere has written an article or book about them...
