Hey guys.

I found this two piece button that I believe to be French origins.

It's a copper alloy with what looks like gilt plating. The back plate is made of iron.

I'm having a hard time finding information on two piece buttons with an iron back plate. Have yall found any buttons like this?

Thanks

I may be wrong, but it looks like a post 1900 button ~1915 or so.

The button you posted in the link has a bone back , the button you found has a tin back. tin backs aren't that old.

The one I found has an iron back.

And I recognize that the one in the link has a bone back. I was talking about the front of the button being similar.

Just sharing what I've found through my research.
