Hey everyone, I was cleaning off some relics the other day and was trying to think of a way to make them look fresh and clean and protect them. A friend puts vasaline on gilted buttons and it really brings out the shine. I found some chapstick in a drawer so I experimented with a few random brass things like little buckles and buttons, then did a couple KG 2 found, then a couple 2 piece buttons. Everything looks great and has that preserved patina look. I am attaching some before /after pics and some of the relics. The nice stuff I did a thin layer.
