Our little town of gunnison Colorado is under siege today.
Two of our bus drivers are now confirmed and we have a few other cases here, could be hundreds more now, hazmat teams are here in full suits and trucks and shops are all closing.
Theres a testing station out by parlin so far and one in crested butte.
Crested butte is a ghost town and everything is closed now and shelves are empty.
Also a big panic right now at city market with tons of people there, probably trying to close their doors.

Quick! Everyone take a deep breath. At least 10' from anyone else! I don't think the cougar, bear, bobcat, skunk, squirrels, chipmunks, opossums, raccoons, deer or beaver here have it.

Just hang in there ! It will pass , common sense and stay out of crowds----GL & HH

Everyone will probably contract it eventually no matter what. It affects everyone differently so maybe we just need to carry on with life and WHEN we get it we can just get back to work.
It's just the flu to most people. Life goes on.

The Wuhan virus media panic makes it seem like the end times. Remember back when the H1N1 swine flu was ravaging our country? People didn't buy all the toilet paper. Games and events continued as usual. Of course, the media and the president were of the same party at that time.

In a few weeks, the outbreak will reach equilibrium and begin to ebb, and then we can all go back to our normal American lives of eating too much carbs and watching trashy TV. In the mean time, I have sank some more money in the stock market because the chance to buy a dip like this comes along only once in a decade or two. I also just bought 1000 rounds of ammo today. Not because I believe the apocalypse is on us or anything, but because without baseball to watch, I can go have some fun at the range with the kids.

it does suck there is no baseball. I'm going to miss watching the Mets for a bit

Try being on the road RVing right now. State Parks are closing by the minute, nothing left to do but boondock in the wild. BLM will be next to close access. Travelers stuck in states that are beginning to prohibit travel In or Out. Store shelves emptied out. It's looking grim out here.

I'm a Cardinals fan here (Royals too - it's ok to like them both so long as they don't play each other). I have tickets for some games this season starting in May, so I hope things get back to normal soon. Baseball is my favorite sport, almost the only one I watch on TV. I did get some depression yesterday hearing about the delay, but it wasn't anything that bourbon couldn't cure.

Johnny - Sorry to hear about your hometown. I've spent some happy times up in Gunnison and Crested Butte. Beautiful country up there. Hang in there, take some hikes, and go catch some trout (I recall one lake NW of town where they bit hard on worms of all things).

As long as mosquitos dont transfer it lol

He's doing a great job. At least he knows what state he's in when he makes a statement.

As far as supp;ies of TP and hand sanitizer, the "hoarding mentality" definitely isn't helping.
Buy what you NEED. More will become available.

We are stocked up on green chiles, pinto beans, and rice. My wife and I are both in our 60's, I'm more concerned for her because she has asthma.

They are checking everyone’s temperature at my work. If I put icy hot on my forehead, can I get free time off?

OMG, that made me remember 30+ yrs back, we had that mosquito born encephalitis disease going around, down here.
We were all trying to be real careful about not going outside dawn/dusk,
stay covered, whatever one needed to do, to NOT catch THAT mess... :BangHead:

Well... one of the elderly neighbors, down the street, the wife got it.
Her brain swolled all up, she didn't die, she ended up in a nursing home.
We all felt so bad for her husband, too. Tore him up. :crybaby2:
I doubt either one are still alive today. :dontknow:

My Mom always said, "There's worser things, than death"! :notworthy:

I'd say good luck & Prayers for those traveling, nor quite prepared/stocked for this,
but there's still time.
And, your neighbors, who stayed home, should be stocked to the max... :laughing7:
Neighbors will have to be looking after neighbors, more than likely.
Folks may be surprised, that the better in humanity, may come to the surface in this ordeal.

Calm.... Serenity now.... pet the cat pet the cat pet the cat... :laughing7:

This media frenzy is ridiculous! :BangHead:

Yep! Does anyone here remember the media fed Y2K panic of 1999? Or the media fed "Mayan End Of The World Panic" of Dec. of 2012?
