Relic Hunting
We had about an inch of rain yesterday and I traveled to an Indiana & Ohio Infantry and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Michigan Cavalry Camp hoping the moisture would enhance signals on my F75. It was a brisk 43 degrees when I walked to the camp with ONE objective in mind: Find 2 more relics to make an even 700 relics that the Tennessee Trio has dug there since February 2012. That proved to be no problem and it was one of those days where all the planets were in alignment and I had a good hunt. Some of the eagle buttons crumbled to powder in my hands as you can see in my video.
Dman was supposed to go hunting with me but had to go and help his brother. This was another opportunity for me to carry the flag for the Tennessee Trio Johnny Blaze. Given how hard that 9 day late 1862 camp has been hunted, I hope I did the Trio proud. Enjoy the video and HH, Quindy.

Good hunt Quindy or do we need to start calling you Buttons? You did well. I know the rest of the crew will be sorry they missed this expedition. The grass does not look to bad there at all. Good saves for sure and well done.

Q, Congrats on all the recoveries from that SHORT-TERM camp. I would have never believed that many relics camp from there. You guys did good up there. I'm glad that D-Man showed you the ropes!:laughing9: Weedhopper!!! Love it. Tennessee digger

Man, you racked up on those buttons! I bet Old Doug was fit to be tied! :D

Seriously a great hunt for you, and congrats on hitting the 700 mark!

Best Wishes,

Buck

Thanks for stopping by JC, John Boy, VM, ACE, & MM. HH, Quindy.

Richard, there are several head of cows and calves helping to keep that 60 acre field grazed low but the weeds will be the problem soon. HH, Q.

Donnie & Dman, Doug has been very helpful to me regarding relic hunting (as a witness to my finds that is -LOL). HH.

BB, Doug has recovered several buttons from that same area of the camp. Some of those read just an "8" on the F75 display. I dug a lot of square nails to get those relics Friday. As you know, dig every solid signal with a low pinpoint tone even though the target is only 6-8 inches deep. I hope you & Shane can get out Tuesday my Friend. HH, Q.

Congrats on your finds Quindy. You are correct on the buttons deteriorating. Its frustrating that we can't save them all. I usually don't pay much attention to VDI readings when relic hunting. I much prefer to hunt by tones. I have noticed that soil condition and depth will affect the VDI number. You are off to another great year. Can't wait to see your next video. Keep them coming.

Quindy, you dun guud as the Tennessee Solo! It just goes to show that no place is really hunted out. I'm glad you were able to dig those buttons, whether damaged or not. I agree with you about getting them out of the ground vs. land owners not letting us hunt. Great video as usual, and thanks for sharing your front porch view; it's BEAUTIFUL! :) Breezie

Thanks Breezie. We have hit that camp pretty hard but it's one of our few sites we can still hunt right now because of grass height. A button dug is one NOT lost to fertilizer and time. HH, Q.

Thanks HD and Randy. Randy, about 1/3 of the eagle buttons we dig are damaged. Good luck in East Tennessee, Q.

Quindy those are some sweet finds:hello2:

Man you have been carrying some weight for the Trio:laughing7:

Hope the band is not splitting up:laughing9:

Look forward to seeing some more history saves in the future:icon_thumleft:
