Yesterday it was terrible weather so we stayed close to home. My father and I went up to a 1850s home site where we detected what we think is the barn. I got one Crotal Bell then had more signals in and around that hole. We ended up with 17 in total. Today we went somewhere new and I pulled up my first Trime ever. It's an 1853 and in mint condition. It was fairly green when I dug it but that's nothing a little Baking Soda rub won't cure. My father found what I believe to be some sort of holed farthing. I can just make out a bust on the front but there isn't enough detail for me to know what it is. If anyone has any thoughts let me know!

1853 Trime:

Wow. Congrats on the Trime and a lifetimes worth of crotals

wow, an instant collection of bells! the tryme is sweet too

Very nice trime, and those bells are a cool find. Neat that there is still leather holding a couple together.

Love those bells! Rather than a random one falling off the leather and one of us finding it, it appears the whole leather strap of them rotted away in the ground. Really awesome that a few are still attached. I've only found one complete bell that the homeowner loved, so I gave it to them. So I'm dying to find one I get to keep. Great hunt.

Baking...soda...rub... :BangHead:

Nice set of bells!

It's too big for a farthing, can't make out any details, so another guess is a counterfeit halfpenny or maybe a jetton.
