If that's Austin Bank, I'm not surprised. They'll nickel and dime you to death with fees and charges.
It was First Texas Bank... They have been really good with not charging me a bunch of fees. Was shocked to see they wanted such a huge mark up.

I'm pulling a ring every few hours metal detecting and a gold ring about every 30 hours of detecting so I think I'll keep doing what's working for me. If getting coin rolls is going to take a monumental effort, on top of the hours and hours spent sorting and rewrapping coins, it makes it not so glamorous.

Ridiculous... I decided to stick my big toe in the water of coin roll hunting. My bank that I have been with for years wanted to charge me 30 cents per roll on 50 cent penny rolls.

Thus ends my adventure into coin roll hunting.
30 cents for 50 cents is a profit of 20 cents. :laughing7:

Welcome to our world of banking that has been around for 25 yrs

I can't coin roll hunt in Canada-the service fees for handling coin out weighs anything made.
There was a time where the Royal Bank wanted to charge me a service fee for taking out cash from our business account. $120.00 a week on $70-90K So it was a quick BYE-BYE!

I'm still amazed that banks even mess with the coin exchange in the US.

One has the weigh the options and I always thought it was like playing the scratch ticket game. Win a few loose many when it came to doing the rolls.

What a buzzkill. A 60 percent tax would make me quit just about anything I can think of.
