I would leave that bank and never come back. They don't deserve my business.
Yes, for the first time EVER, my Wells Fargo charged me for a box this past week. I saw it, complained, and they reversed it, but said any future boxes WOULD have the charge. New way of doing business. Blame the ones who put out the videos on CRH and get so many new people into it that the banks have taken notice.

Was their reasoning that you had to be a business? I know around here they service businesses and need a certain amount of coins on hand...but I still find it lazy on their part for not wanting to order extra boxes...

I have a business account with them, and it has six digits in it and at times close to seven digits. Still charged me the annoying charge of $3.55. Ridiculous!!

That is perplexing...I think I would have a polite conversation with the head banker there about waiving that fee or you can take your banking somewhere else...it just sounds petty on their part...

I did manage to order 4 boxes of pennies from my girlfriend's bank which is Chase without having to pay any fee. I pick them up this week.

Nice...more than one way to skin a cat...who skins cats? Where did that saying come from? Pennies are fun...today would be a great day to go through pennies...may you find a 1909 vdb...and low date Indian heads!

Look into getting a business license and open an business account. They may not feel inclined to charge. I can't image businesses pay .30 per roll they pull out ;)
I used to buy the sorter bags, then I was told they cant sell them to me anymore. Then I was told, I needed a .biz account to continue getting coinage. So, I (bought) a .biz license for 30.$ and opened a business account, and they bank manager's look was priceless the first time I came in to order more coinage. Then, they started asking me what I was doing with the coins, and I told them I have a coin club at work (some folks I work with have developmental disabilities) and we build coin books on lunch. for the .biz license I claim no profit on yearly taxes, as I earn no profit.
done and done!

I think the best part of your post is when the bank Manager's look was priceless...I don't understand the pushback that occurs....all they need to do is order extra coins...

That happened to me once, I politely asked the lead teller to look at my account balance as I slowly surveyed the shopping area outside of the bank. She asked what I was looking for and I politely told her "Someplace that will not charge an account holder with an almost 7 digit account balance for some rolls of coins". They fell all over themselves once they verified my account, walked out with three boxes of dimes, a coffee cup, a pen set, hat, and a standing order for 5 boxes of half dollars a week at no charge.

That does work, especially when being affable and polite, as you were. Since my wife and I have over six figures in various accounts with my primary coin source, there is rarely an issue.

The secondary sources require more creative actions. As long as I am truthful and polite, good things happen.
