The ring has some kind of mark on it, I found it at the Hayfield and I have not found very much there that is younger than 1890. Usually I would not date anything like that, but this particular field the trash is old, lol. 99.9 % of everything there has been old. It's not gold it's not silver. It looks to have been plated at one time. I also found a 1887 and a 1881 IHC's. My favorite is what hooked me in this hobby, a Treble button.
Enjoy the pix

I forgot to mention that I was hunting with Jackalope (Ken) Good guy, good company, I even noticed I had my pix all jumbled up in my story. Allot going on in my life, nice to be outside finding old stuff with a friend.

It's always nice to catch something that is special to you. Sort of like a bucket lister but more. Because, these finds are usually more plentiful, so they serve to crop up now and again. Reminding us once more, always pleasant.

I have a few coins that do that to me. I remember when I first started it was because of my seeing this hobby as a way to get some of those odd, old coins that I would never be able to afford. Over the years I have whittled my bucket list down quite a bit. (Plenty to go though). But there is a coin that started my quest. One I've always wanted. I haven't got it yet. It's not super rare, nor expensive, not gold, but, a strange one. I won't say which one it is, afraid I'll jinx myself. LOL
But, every time I dig that type signal, I'm looking for it and like the "trebles", it keeps me looking. One day........ :)

You appear to have had another very nice walk. Congrats on the finds and the friendship. I keep trying to do that but, it appears that aspect is just not ever going to be available to me again. I'm resigned to stumble on alone. ;)

Treblehunter, Nice finds and I love the button!
Thank you

Well done Treb,,
An old ring, IHP's, and a Namesake button.
Now that's a good hunt.
Congratulations
Thank you brother

Always nice to see some green little Indians......:icon_thumleft:

Looks like another nice hunt. Glad you got that button. Like Gary said, when we find the things that are special to us, even a rare coin might have to take back seat.

MAN SOME PEOPLE HAVE ALL THE FUN. NICE RING FIND...

Looks like "18" on the inside of the band. Odds are it was scammed as an 18k ring. Found a similar ring myself.

I'm not sure, I think some older rings were marked like that even when they were plated. I have found a couple others years past that were similar. I have also found some with Rolled Gold and Gold filled and Gold Plated. It is a 18 also, one of my others was a 14
