It actually reads "Treble Gilt/Rich Orange". I have not seen one before with two different letter styles in the backmark. Nice find.
Could it possibly be from a uniform? I found a late 1800's British copper coin at this site as well.

Found this button at an old abandoned house built in 1700s. Looks old to me. The front of the button not identifiable but the back reads "Treble Gilt Rich" from what I can make out of it.
Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice early 19thc button.
I'd be heading back there after a heavy rain, crank up the sensitivity and see what pops up.

I'm running an Equinox 800. There's allot of trash at this site especially around the house so I'm not sure if cranking up the sensitivity would just be like using high beams in the fog and make machine unstable but definitely after a heavy rain I could probably raise it up a little bit. There's a lot surface junk.

Cool find, I love when the buttons have original gilt!!

Maybe look into getting a smaller coil or possibly an HF coil if one is even available for the Equinox 800. :icon_scratch: After doing a quick online search, it doesn't appear that Minelab offers an HF coil option for your unit. So the only affordable opiton would be to invest in a smaller coil and slow your swing way down. This looks like an interesting video.
