My last three outtings have been pretty good to me. Seems like that little Ace250 is a silver finding monster...at least for me it is. I drove past a park and thought I would stop and just see what might be there. Well, I truly do not think it has been touched by anyone with a metal detector ever and it is old. I hit so much clad it was kind of freaky and only detected a very small spot.

I hit the local lake where the fireworks display was, along with about 8000 people, and hit a oodles more clad and a couple of silver rings. Went back later and hit a nice little sterling pendant with a cute pink stone and eyeballed a big chunk of raw tigers eye. There were a few more pretty cool stones laying around that I kept as well.
The big chunk of a silver necklace was found a couple of weeks ago as was the little turquoise ring and smaller necklace....Not pictured is another ring found the same day as the little turquoise..I couldn't get the 11 year old girl wearing it to hold still for a pic...Ya shoulda seen me trying to pry that filigree style sterling one of the Mrs. Hand. I have a bruise or three but dang it I GOT THE SHOT!

Hope you all enjoy!

~Nash~

P.S. I did not keep all of the junque I dug, but as you can imagine it was pounds and pounds.

Hey Nash,
Nice finds! Did that thinner silver necklace give you a very good
signal, or was it kind of iffy? For some reason my XLT gives some
iffy signals on thin silver chains. I need to determine if I should add
an Ace 250 to the collection.

Actually it sounded off, very quickly, bingbingbingbingbing.... in the quarter range. I HAD to dig that one. It is a very common signal with the Ace and necklaces. I very quickly repeated bell tone that sounds like there are fifteen dimes under your coil.

About all I can say is that little Ace is kicking some serious butt on silver jewelry this year....Silver coins? Not so good but most of the areas I hunt I don't expect them..Now my next time out? I EXPECT THEM! ;D

Yeah, I think for the price, and what the favorable response for the Ace, I think I'll get one.

Nice finds Nash......Just pray it doesnt turn into rust like all mine and you will be ok.... :D

Do you use a special setting for your ace 250? I have the same machine and I haven't found any jewelry. Do you use jewelery mode or all metal?

I always hunt in jewelry mode and disc out iron..Sensitivity is set according to ground mineralization. No problem finding plenty of clad either. I counted up the last batch(from 5 outtings) last night and had 288 dimes, 64 quarters, 54 nickles. I didn't bother counting pennies but there were a lot. Just as a suggestion I would say don't give up on good places even if you find nothing the first time around. I have found many pieces of silver jewelry and a lot of clad in parks that appear to be void of anything but pulltabs a month after I first hunt them. I DO try to hunt out of the way places, but ones that people still frequent.
Hope something I said might help you!

Sometimes I think I should have saved 350 bucks and bought an Ace 250..... ???

I would imagine the machine you are running is more than capable of equal or greater finds. I don't know what kind of time you put in, but when I use the term "hunt" it generally means somewhere around 5 or six solid hours. I wish I were one of those that could post, "todays 30 minute hunt" but that just is not happening!

Trust me Gypsy...I find my share. I just don't post my "Damn I dug that!?" stuff. Even with discing out iron, the Ace250 gives a deep tone and occasionally I gid it. Usually it is an unidentifiable chunk of rust...or nails :P

Best o' luck to all

Great pile of silver Nash!
Great huntin'.....

Keep safe...
