Restorers have found sort of a treasure inside of the gryphon sculptures decorating the Bank Bridge in Saint Petersburg.
In the course of the restoration works of the Bank Bridge there have been found about five thousand coins in the sculptures. Apart from the coins there were found numerous notes with wishes and requests from the city dwellers and tourists. The gryphons have been always asked for riches, successful entering a university, a good job, and so on.
Out of all the notes discovered by the restorers only one had a wish about long lasting life for the gryphons themselves: I want the gryphons never to break down or be cracked! an unknown author put down. The wish may possibly come true, but only on conditions that nobody will throw foreign objects into them any more.
