Treasure coins, 2 & 8 Reales

Here are the photos of the Spanish coins from the dowsing test site thread, Deepsecrets sent.
http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,375766.0.html

I took the time to make plenty of photos and edit in programs with 3D shadow correction graph to balance properly.

The coins are from a hoard found on Friday, October 29, 1982. At high noon on Friday, a crew excavating for the foundation of the new Meridien Hotel at Canal and Camp streets in New Orleans struck a chest at a depth of 15 feet.

The number of coin sets assembled was 116 exclusively for subscribers of International Moneyline.

They came in a case 6 1/2 X 9 1/2" when closed, with a certificate of authenticity one side and history the other.

red desert, that should make you feel real good about your ability to do that. i now wonder what swr and the other clones

How do you get “allegedly” out of the real facts told on this board ?...Art

The results and conditions speak for themselves. SWR and others don't really have to post about anything "wrong"

Thanks for dragging me into the Comedy Show :tard:

Hello SRW, good to hear from you...I see you have some fans on the dowsing board.

If you want to post an aerial of your house, we can demonstrate how easy it is for dowsers to locate your safe (if you have one) or anything valuable hidden in your house.

But, maybe it is your style to be unconvinced...that's ok, just keep it that way. :coffee2:

Darn 10claw
Now it is a personal attack to wonder what someone will find wrong….I guess that is par for the course when it comes to the " Lecherous Randi Leprechauns "…Hey Red…Good work..Art

Greeting Red....and you would not have heard from me, had it not been for the personal attack.

Posting a picture of my house (or any house for that matter) and guessing where the safe is....is just to silly for me. I'll pass, this time around. :hello:

Ok, there wasn't supposed to be any personal attack on you SWR, I guess I can apologize, at least for myself. Have a good day!

Facts are based on truth.
Unfortunately, the events surrounding this episode have fallen short.

So, Jon when your paying clients come up dry on your dowsing locations do you give them a refund? Just curious...

You are a great example of how to handle refunds.
Why do you want your pride to further taint your reputation on this forum?
I'm entitled to my opinions on here, if you don't like it take it up with the mods and see what they want to do about
it.

Red_desert,
The coins are very nice! Lucky you!

Darn! Your suspicions are correct that I always speak the truth. That way I don't have to worry about what I say.
Wether someone pays me to dowse for them or not I do what is expected of me.
How would you refund your deceiving and unethical behavior?
You had the opportunity to hold people in check with your challenge but you did'nt.
I think you came on here with good intentions but it seemed that one of Red's 30+ locations was good enough and your rules suddenly did'nt mean anything. Those who took you at your word expected you to follow through with what you said. If a person is faithful with a little thing, then they will be faithful with a larger one.
The real winner to me is the person who pm'd you on the 10th, not Mr. Williams as I mentioned earlier.

Almost didn't join in at first, but I like dowsing. I wasn't really interesting in having the coins at first...except they do make nice photos. Just wanted to see what is there. I like finding everything, it didn't matter about the treasure coins. I'd rather have people see I can find stuff.

Also, I fully expected all the dowsers to have the exact spot marked for the coins. My photo was never finished because it was past noon here, our time on Saturday. Otherwise I would have clearly marked all targets specifically...especially coins.

It's one thing to want people to see that a dowser can find things, but it takes on a different meaning when done unethically.
You expected what of everyone? YOU did'nt meet your own expectations, but accepted the coins anyway?
Do you honestly feel you deserve those coins?
It would'nt have mattered what you wanted to "finish up on". You had already indicated where you felt the most likely place for the coins to be. You mean you still were not done, after 2 posts containing
all those locations?
This was not any challenge. No one had to be a dowser to participate.
The "devil" is in the details when Mr. deepsecrets put in the phrase "first to come closest". That changed the meaning from a "location" to a "timing" issue. Whoever would have said first where the coins were in a pm or posted a dot or circle anywhere in that red rectangle is the winner.
It was wrong to come on here offering a monetary reward for locating a known target and asking people to abide by rules and then not honoring them.

You've changed your mind about Tim now? The location that was sent via PM to me on the 10th of Jan was nowhere near thee location of the coins as indicated on the image below - so you have been mis-informed. One other person came close to the coins, however, they were not a member of the forum and it came in after Red's initial submission. I stand by my decision, and I followed through with my commitment to award the coins to the person that came closest, first...and that was Red. I think the vast majority of readers of the threads can make up their own minds and come to a rational conclusion for themselves.

Re: Treasure coins, 2 & 8 Reales

Jon is correct. This is what you said. Just to help clear this up. I think these are the points that stand out.

"First person to come closest to the coins before the end of January get the coins. Three dowsed locations per person only - Fair enough?"

1. There are mores than 3 locations on Reds map.
2. Reds coins are clearly marked in blue down near where I marked possible silver coins spread out.

Here's what red said about your coin locations.

"Here probably is the most likely spot for your 2 coins. Blue circle with a blue X in it, arrows point to 2 silver coins at a depth of 3 ½ and 4 inches. I don’t get a lost old coin signal on these…either someone dropped or intentionally buried them in recent times or the coin type isn’t a valuable old one. I do get a Spanish signal, but some Mexican person could have dropped them in recent times."

Yep, sure did, oh and by the way, I'm not afraid to admit I made a mistake.
Here is my reason, based on your "rational" instructions:

The "devil" is in the details when Mr. deepsecrets put in the phrase "first person to come closest". That changed the meaning from a "location" to a "timing" issue. Whoever would have said first where the coins were in a pm or posted a dot or circle anywhere in that red rectangle is the winner, it does'nt matter how far off they were, it's who posted first. Your "came closest first" switch-a-rooney means the same thing, it comes down to who posted or pm'd you first. Take out the word "first" then you have "comes closest"...big difference. Red's location was way south of the true location.
Oh, and besides, did you ask the people that made more than 3 locations (who made the picture look like something homer simpson would paint) which 3 they wanted to keep?
It seems that you are happy with your committed decision to interpret things how you want to on this matter, as no one but you is more mis-informed.
The poor coins, they were happy under that rock, all they wanted was to be properly identified and feel that someone knew where they really were and become part of a loving home in which they were more than just another 40 targets waiting to be found, if only their eyes could see and their ears could hear.
Yes I'm sure others looking in on this will see the true colors of the people involved and base their future dealings with those involved accordingly.
For a moment I thought you were going to suggest a duel at 20 pesos!

Jon

Re: Treasure coins, 2 & 8 Reales

Jon I acknowledge your point and that the rules needed to be more precise. So, the next challenge (not competition) the rules will be more like this:
Only Forum Members can submit.
3 dowsed locations per Forum Member only - only 1 submission.
Marked target location only on the image provided - no amplifying information.
Location must be within a 25 ft radius of the location of the target to be accepted as a positive "hit" - if more than one person gets within the 25 ft radius, the closest to the target gets the target.
Submissions must be posted on the forum thread - no PM's.
10 DAYS from the time the challenge is posted until the challenge ends.

Now, feel free to suggest any additional rules you think are reasonable and I will consider them.
