I know I didn’t come up with the idea but I’m going to whittle down a few of these domesticated tools to use as 7D8B9D08-4A48-4556-8A3A-1064D3E84D39.jpegBB6F72F3-C2D2-4D0B-A1B7-7CCD7AD5FF76.jpegAF688581-E5B2-4C2D-B66D-B7DEE856DA18.jpeg “display handles” for all general picture making.
It is only theft of “intellectual property” if I call it a “widget”

Nice artifacts. Very beautiful, actually...!
The native that chose the flakes to work on,
likely had a good eye for the potential of it.....

That display handle widget bears a striking resemblance to a clothes pin! Good idea as long as it doesn't pinch too tight.

Killer points as usual...Hey Fat, I promise I’m not gonna laugh if you pressure flake a base or tang...It’s a good idea, don’t know why I didn’t think of it, well for one, I don’t have a wood pin, just plastic,Lol.

I bet if the ancients had facial hair those would be in the top 10 of razors too use.

Thanks, I saved the paper, as I have several archaeologists that I've worked with, mention the foreshaft business end, the point, the tip of a throwing weapon, atlati (sp?)... Meant for extending range of effective hunting...! Bigger families to feed perhaps, or winter hunt for the village...an elk would be great for hungry times...!

Yeah, those fluted points are really old! Can't easily see the hafting end of the point tho - use low-angled lighting, to highlight flaking patterns...

Dr M Gramly was at the LAS show this fall. That was the second time I just sat at his table and listen to all of what he has to say to anyone asking. He is great example of how the “learned” and “wisest” could and should interact with people in a open and fun setting with real facts.
I would recommend all of his books.
He is great to listen to and can explain and document the reasons for his opinions.
