I am just posting pics for the moment. I typed a big long story and realized my space bar is not working on my pc so after ripping off the keyboard and hitting space with the end of a ball point pen and loosing my story in the process I decided to just post the pics for now. SW MO creek find after flood destroyed a 40 yr old log jam. Im thinking agate basin, possibly Packard type for my area, but I could be way off. Any info appreciated.

You might want to put the detector down and get back to that gravel bed lol. That's an epic one

Thanks for the replies everyone! Just bought a new laptop and just got it set up. No more space bar button pecking with a pen for me...lol

Yes Edgy that one was an epic one for me. Thanks.

Holy smokes! WTG! I've only found pieces, never a complete point.. Good job!

Thanks! I've found a lot of pieces, usually field hunting because of the plow damage. Believe me no one was more surprised by this point in the creek more than I. When I first found it, it was 8 inches long and the more I kept taking it out of my pocket and looking at it the shorter it got..lol.

great creek wear and wonderful stain/patina...it has a lot of character.

Beautiful point, I would love to find something large like that, I've only found a broken point when I was a kid in a summer camp area from my tribal lands. But have found tons of pottery from same spot that my Mom would make tabletops out of resin and sand filling in between spaces. Went back to the same spot after we spread my Mom's ashes and still found pottery 40 years from the time I had last been there. There are grinding holes on the rocks and all, it is a very cool spot. If I still lived there I would get all the broken glass out of the area as it is being destroyed.

That is so nice! I can't help, but sure enjoy the finds you all post. Really terrific photos too!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I went back today and in 2 hr search only found an inch long tip. Off all week so will probably hit it again..only searched one out of many gravel bars so far. And now all the falling leaves and falling water are making it harder...lol.

That?s a beauty! There are a good number of collectors in MO that will have a solid regional opinion about that piece. Great flaking. Has a late Paleo look to it. I think it fits Angostura quite well with a good amount of ancient resharpening. jmo.
