Traded a violin for a metal detector, starting back up with the hobby. Fairfield, CA
Hey TNet,
I've always had an interest with metal detectors and treasure hunting. I owned a metal detector for a while, and sold it about 2 years ago since I wasn't using it. I filled my treasure hunting fix for awhile by picking garage sales and estate sales. I acquired a violin on a hunch for $40 finding out it wasn't worth a lot more. I decided to get the most value out of it, I would trade it. To someone who wanted/needed a violin for IDK maybe a metal detector?
I put it up on craigslist for a while in the bay area and didn't get many hits, accept one man who lived way far out of the way. The next week i get home from work to find my girlfriend had planned a road trip, very randomly I must mention, to go on a North/West Brewery Road Trip.... Awesome girlfriend... I know. As we were packing my girlfriend stares at me and says, "Why are you bringing that damn violin?"... I reply with some tail between my leggish response "I'm going to try to trade it for a Metal Detector so I can hunt the campgrounds?". She protested but my puppy dog eyes must of worked that time.
I tried in Humboldt county, just a lot of people trying to trade for "bud". Oregon not so much luck, until I got to Washington which I traded my violin for a Pioneerr 202, not the best but it works for now. Not to mention I get to hunt on my way back from my trip, did my first beach hunt in Oregon at Beachside state park... Found 2 quarters and a dime...... back to the grind.
P.S.
