I think the credit goes to diggummup on this one. :icon_thumright:

Yes I saw the BORO but I was thinking PittsBURG but it should be spelled PittsBURGH.

GreensBORO seems to fit better but I dont see the S. :dontknow:

FYI, Pittsburgh was actually spelled "Pittsburg" from 1890 - 1911. This token is dated 1917, so not sure there is a connection there.

Ah OK thanks. I was born in Pittsburgh and the steel city was my childhood hometown but I didnt know that ;D 8) Yes the token is 1917. Before that I think it was Fort Pitt. Pittsburgh is a nice town. A lot cleaner now than whenI lived there.

IMG_20130801_220610_0.jpgHi everyone,I am new to this site and forum, but I love finding treasures.I've got the answer to the puzzle. It is a coin that dealer's received from the EL-REES-SO CIGAR COMPANY.It says so on the reverse side of the coin on the top.In the middle it states, 10cent quality 5cent price. At the bottom it reads,ASK YOUR DEALER.Of course on the other side is the schedule. It reads, Carolina League 1917 schedule on top,Raliegh at Home, on the bottom.Games were scheduled in ASHEVILLE,DURHAM,CHARLOTTE,GREENSBORO,RALIEGH at home, and WINSTON.Which in 1917,was not called WINSTON-SALEM as it is today.Im including pictures.IMG_20130801_220537_0.jpg

The schedule reads a lot clearer. The camera I used doesn't show the clarity of which the cities and dates are really legible.I too, hope to find that this coin is of value to baseball collectors and historians.
