Detector(s) used
Whites M-6 with Bullseye Pinpointer

All Treasure Hunting
Well, Jeff is still skunking me with his big silver dollar, but a round of local tot lots put me back in the running--for clad at least. A couple of the quarters shown below in the totals are from yesterday. So this is the results of two days of hunting.

Cooler today about 74 but very muggy and spitting rain all day. Oh, what am I thinking...this is Ohio..that's normal!

20-Quarters
9- Dimes
1-Nickels
6-Cents

3- chunks of aluminum - all showed as Q's, VDI +85...so I dug...hate that
1-Top of an aluminum fence post 6" tall--at 4" down, showed as a dollar. I was trying to out do Jeff.

1-Good samaritain- helped little girl search for a key she lost-no luck.

Lost my pin pointer, again, I realized it when I got my equipt out of the van. Then I had to drive back to the first school tot lot I hit. I am putting velcro on that thing! It just jumps out of my pouch as I walk. It must be the detector swing and shovel swagger of MDers.

I finally found it out in way out in the middle of the field where I had been. It took 10 minutes of walking like a crazy guy to find it. I can just hear the mother's talking, "Don't go by that crazy guy with just one kneepad on. He is running around out in the field looking everywhere. Oh, Lord protect our children. He has a glazed look in his eye."

And I found $5 by my van. Then I decided I had obviously dropped it from my pants pocket when I had gotten my keys out to leave, before. Yes, I found my own money. Does that count, Tweeter? At least I am not $5 to the negative.

Hey SoreKnees, I am sorry but I cracked right up laughing... lol... I have done the same thing, but I only lost mine once...lol.. I am so glad I am not alone on this one..lol

LOL we can just follow you around to find treasure. $5 bucks and a pinpointer would make my day!

;D :D TOOO funny, Dayton! :D But, will have to say I've been there too...well...haven't lost and then found my own money while detecting. :P :D Glad ya found yer pinpointer AND yer money! 8)

And congrats on your digs! Nana

well the luck was with you today for sure ----a pin pointer left unattended recovered and a $5 bill that didn't blow away -- plus your other great finds --all in all a dang good day

The total from 2 days worth of clad would have been well short of the amount needed to replace your pinpointer, good thing you found it. I walk around with 1 glove on . . . . I think I should go for the 1 kneepad as well to complete the look. Here we can't get anywhere near tot lots on weekends as we would be ran over by the little tikes. But I will make my rounds on Monday morning. :)

HH, Mark

glad ya found it,i kept doing the same till i bought two of those wallet chains, hooked them together clipped one end to my belt, the other to the pinpointer

You better be careful or one of these times it wont be there when you go back. Maybe you could get a clip on nail pouch to put the probe in. If its a small pouch then cut a hole in the bottom for the probe to stick through. I used that method until I got sunray. Well done on the clad. 8)

I've got a belt clip on mine but it just doesn't seem to stay secured very well. Maybe velcro would work better ::)

Thanks for all the comments and YES it feel out again today. Velcro here I come.

SKD=Velcro

lol, your post cracked me up, rofl... am trying to be patient, my pinpointer is on backorder, by after reading your post i will be sure to figure out a way to attach it to myself, seeing as i lose EVERYTHING. i've lost my big old fashioned steak knife that i bring along to dig with at a tot lot before and was panicking walking all over terrified that some little kid was going to find it before me and hurt themselves. yee gods. that'll teach me. i think its great this lil competion u have going on to with tweeter.. Yes, Ur not alone, I could not be believe when it fell out again. Didn't find much today but would not have wanted to loose pinpointer.
I use a bulb planting tool from Lowes to dig with. Less scary looking than steak knife. And Tweeter is family!..Go Tweeter!! He already has velcro'ed his unit and recommends puting it on the side away from your body as it digs in otherwise.

You are nice man Rudy and I think finding my own $5 counts too or I would be out five bucks. I wonder how much more I dropped and it blew away?

SKD + $5

California Orange spraypaint is a good thing, or 8 or 10" of brite 2" plastic ribbon.

I had to search for a probe once...

NOT a good thing to leave in a kiddy tot lot!

Best,
