Could this be an old tool of some kind? Spearhead? Or is it junk ?

Spearhead ?

yes it could be, if i found that I would keep it as such. But hard to say without looking at it closer.

I beleive that if you cleaned it off you would see several holes in it.If so,it is likely the bucket bail bracket from a mid 19 th Century wooden pail

Its not like any trade point I have ever seen, but this type of bail bracket is fairly common in 19th century sites....although I cant find a good image at the moment.I have a box of em I have dug

here is a semi similar example of the "diamond",type 19th-c-shaker-lidded-bucket-turned-wood-bail-handle-diamond-brackets-383_121066896404.jpg

No visible holes. As I have an Indian heritage I was so hoping it was related to the native Americans.

having that type of tapered base, its not typical of normal iron arrow heads, but in the grand scheme of things it could be what ever you want it to be?Personally I see the iron arrowheads as the beginning of the end of the once proud independent Native People

Looks like an iron spike fence point.
