Tool for finger?

This thing seems to be complete, except for the broken closure of the ring part. The ring fits very comfortably on a finger. It's made of iron. The "blade" or "hook" part is flattened in cross-section and gradually thins until reaching the rounded tip. The edges are rounded and don't appear to have ever been sharp. If it helps, most items found at the site seem to date to the 1830s and before. I don't think nose-picker. Possibly ear wax removal tool? :-\

How about something used in weaving? Like to push the threads down tight? Just a guess.

could be....Hope NDigger doesnt mind me doing this Im trying to see what this piece would look like if it wasnt broken.....looks like a trigger or lever as someone has said before.....maybe a toy gun trigger? Or even a lever to some type of old hand tool....

It looks like a trigger guard for an old breech loader to me.Not broken.Maybe a little bent out of proportion.

Awesome...So its only bent not broken....I have looked everywhere for a pic like that...Is that the monkey ward catalog :D :D

That would be cool. However, the "extension" is attached at the wrong angle to the loop and it is flattened in the opposite direction (45 degrees from the trigger guard pictured). Also, no attachment provisions (screw holes, etc.).
