Too much negativity lately

Well considering its been in the news that our own government is using drones to "watch over us in an effort to protect the public" I wouldn't doubt some photo or video would be used to catch one of us devious defectors. Isn't this you Mr. mason aka bzbadger digging up a quarter at a park? How dare you sir, don't you realize earthworms are harmed when you dig, grass roots cut? Its tot lot terrorists like you that make our country unsafe.

I'm rather sickened by the tone on some of the posts. It seems there are a few members who feel its their place, obligation, mission in life etc to berate, argue, smack talk or run ppl off a post for some reason. I think its appalling that these ppl have nothing better to do with their lives and something needs to be done. Its disgraceful that ppl feel the need to do this when the majority come here to share in something they care about. The original topic of the post is taken over by arguments and that's what needs to stop. You little boys who want to get in a my detector is bigger than your detector match or your opinion doesn't matter only mine does need to find another site. I'm not making this up I've seen too much already, can't hide the truth. Anyone else see this besides me?

Badger for president!!!!!

Well just to add my newbie 2 cents in, I have found most everyone here super nice and incredibly helpful. Any message board gets cranky once in a while or there is always one or two asshats that piss everyone off but as a group I'm very glad I joined here. I haven't done much md-ing yet since I just got my other knee replaced but everyone has answered any questions I've had. I love reading about what everyone else has found out how they handle situations that arise.. thank you all for taking me under y'alls wing.

Housemom you are right there are a lot of good ppl here and very helpful. I'm glad I joined as well and there are those who stand out as great examples in the metal detecting community but then there are those "asshats" (I haven't used that term in years and love it) who just because their lives are in the toilet or are jealous because someone found something better or has better equipment that want to take jabs at ppl to feel better I guess. I like seeing all the finds on here, reading the stories and meeting ppl. I hope for a speedy recovery on your knee so you can get back out dirt fishing soon.

Welcome to T-Net Housemom6.......

I have to agree . 99.9% of the members here are awesome people sharing thier passion for detecting & treasure hunting in it's many forms . HH

I get drawn into pissing matches once in awhile too. For I am a crusty old timer that started detecting as soon as there was water and then dirt. I have my favorite detectors and firearms. I get bent outta shape when somebody says their detector is better than mine, especially

I agree there should be forums for debates and disagreements, but without opinions and debates what is left to talk about?

Here is an example of an entire treasure hunting web site without the possibility of some being offended.

1. Best beginner detector?...Ace 250, Fisher F2, Tesoro Compadre.
2. Gotta' dig pull tabs to find gold rings.
3. I hate the AT Pro\ I love the AT Pro.
4. I found my first find.
5. I found another find.

There you go! The entire treasure hunting web experience with no hurt feelings!!!

I've just decided if I see a post going in the direction of an argument im not going to even look at it anymore and if more of is did that then it would be just the two buffoons arguing and easy for the mod to see it and squash it..enough times maybe they'll get the point

It would be a pretty boring site if all you ever read was, nice find, great job, way to go, etc.....There are rules on here to keep things civil and the moderators do a great job of enforcing them...I like TNET just the way it is.

As I once said: "There is no discovery in the absence of debate."
