There are certainly some legitimate treasures out there just waiting to be found and the signs are there just waiting for someone to figure them out. But there are just as many wild goose chases with just no credible evidence what so ever that any treasure even exists. Not every shadow on a tree or rock indicates there is a pile of gold nearby. But as Go Deep indicates, even when some ridiculous "evidence" is clearly debunked, the "true believers" just can't seem to ever admit they were mistaken. The first time someone finds that pile of treasure that I scoffed at as just being a myth, I would certainly admit to being wrong, an idiot and a fool.
Yes yes I know. An old thread. Im necroposting. I dont care. I want to give OP some hope. Some of us are still really out here.
I know this is old hat for you KGC expert veterans, but, it was a podcast called Astonishing Legends that got me into treasure hunting. It was a show about Shadow of the Sentinal, or Rebel Gold...Bob Brewers book.
At the time, I lived in PA. I was fascinated. It got me into the hobby. Now, I live outside Florence, AZ.....exactly where the end of Bob's treasure trail ends. So......I decided to verify a couple of the things I read in his book. The first one was the USGS topo map he spoke about. The one with the horse mapped into its contours. I bought one and traced it myself. It's legit. Not only have I traced it with a pencil, Ive driven many of these roads in my jeep.
Then, I jumped in my jeep and went to Buzzards Roost (AZ) to see if there really was a star carved into the side.
There was.
I then went to Box Canyon to see if I could find engravimga on the rock, albeit, what I found was easy and probably local boys doing local boy things...
He then talked about a window rock. Although, this probably aint it, it is in the area.
The spoked wheel in Adamsville Ghost Town Masonic Civil War Cemetary was mentioned.
I even walked around the supposed dig site in Adamsville. Decades too late, but it was fun.
I believe the KGC angle. I very much love your posts and I hate seeing you down-hearted. I might not be as intelligent about the KGC, nor is my research as sound as yours, but man, juat know....there are some of us out here who still believe and who are still following the clues.
Ill follow up with some pics of some of the gravestones. There were strange artifacts around. Rock patterns. Tiny stuffed dolls, etc..
