well got to go out a little tonite n got some steel n copper. also found out that my hunch was right there is another garbage picker in my park. went out a little late tonite came up on some steel lamps n a microwave all had the cord's cut off 
guess they don't think about the copper inside of them 
good for me. took them all home n strip them down, put the copper to the side n loaded all my steel into the van for another haul to the yard. they don't bother with any steel just goes by n cut the cords off. if they only knew how much copper they r passing up like in a TV from the inside then the power cord. well ill post what i get from the yard tomorrow. good luck n happy hunting to all.
well it's 6-7-07 n i just got back from taking my load in and it was one of my best. 6lb's of #2copper wire @1.75 24lb's of #2 copper wire cod @.95, and 360lb's of steel @.04 for a total of 47.70 not bad if i say so lol well gl n hh to all
