Anyone recognize this pattern?

2014 (552).jpg2014 (553).jpg

It's just a tad wider than a quarter, non-magnetic, appears to be brass/copper with some sort of
a silver like coating(doesn't appear to be a plating), weighs 4.83 grams.

I haven't a clue but the design seems sooooo familiar.

Anyone think that could be A M A instead of just a double A?

Thanks!

Since it is the same on both sides, it could be a vending token for an amusement park/pinball/video place as in in American Vending Amusements. Although the fonts on your token look old.
Below is a newer token with AVA.

Neat find :)

Why hello Breezie!!! Hope you're staying cool!

This could be just about ANYthing! :)
AVA token seems just as likely to me. Kinda strange script but still.

Thanks!

Staying cool??? Is that possible in NC in the summer time? :laughing7:

The fonts on your token remind me of the fonts that most people used during the late Victorian times to carve 'love tokens.' I don't think yours is a love token, but the fonts look the same. Also, I don't think a modern amusement company would use those fonts. Perhaps it was an older token used in a trade stimulator after slot machines were outlawed.

Hi Whadifind, Howdyafindit?

Was it detected and dug? Any clues as to era?
I did some searching, no luck yet but I think it is AMA or MAA.

Maybe I should've asked if you're at least not over-heating? LOL

Slot machine? Well, anything's possible. The area was old enough to have seen a LOT of history.
Maybe, along the way, it fits, or it's a just a fancy bubble gum machine token. ;)

By the way, it rings up at a constant 76 on the air test now, with my ATP.
And, it doesn't appear to be aluminum. More a solid metal type.

Thanks!

It was a dug coin and not too very deep,(but in a very rocky soil).

I was ready to just toss it off as just a modern day amusement token of some sort. But, the coating is
strange, the base seems to maybe be brass based. The font used is either old or a modern mimic of something
old. The area has some deep history so it could be most anything.

Is there a good way to test a metal by it's electrical conductivity? I'd like to know if it is brass.

Thanks!
