I went to an auction and spent around $160 on 10 oz of sterling jewelry, a Lalique statue, and about 5 pounds of costume jewelry. I found this token in the costume jewelry pile. I can't seem to find much of anything on it besides the fact that it is from St. Andrew's IN. Any idea on value/rarity? This is my first bar token.

There are two maverick tokens listed in Wagaman's IN Trade Tokens book, the one you have and one that has initials JS in place of a name. Wagaman's notes are that JS is John Sternberg - saloon - 1909 and that the Tony Sternberg one is saloon - 1912-18. Wagaman lists the former at rarity 7 and the latter rarity 6 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being unique.

A look at the 1910 Census shows John as the father saloon proprietor with John (at age 22) as his son with no occupation shown. Here's a clipping from the Jasper (IN) Weekly Courier of 11 Jan 1901.
