I found this today thinking at first it was just a washer. I've cleaned it up just a little bit and I can read BRECKINRIDGE on it, there's more but unreadable just yet. It's just a tad larger than a quarter and has ridges on the edge like a quarter. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Hunting. Dan
Thanks guys for the info, My web browser is on the blink so I can't do any searches yet but I'm sure you've nailed it for me. I'm always so amazed at the knowledge out there.
I can't read what's on the back of this token yet but it says John C. Breckinridge 1860 on the front. I'll clean it a bit more to see if I can get it legible and then try to date it. I found it in the same area as the civil war buttons and 1866 Shield Nickel. Thanks again. Dan

Re: Token or Coin....

Gonna say token......I would do a Goggle search on it! Very cool. Good thing you cleaned it up!

Happy Haunting!

SugarSand, what do you think was in the middle? It's just a small hole. I didn't get another hit when I passed over the hole it was in. Thanks and Happy Hunting. Dan

I might be mistaken, but i believe Breckinridge was a confederate general. Who fought in the western campaigns. Check out his name spelling to the one you have on the token.

Nice find!
