I was hunting a stream today and found what appears to be a huge backhoe tooth! It weighs a whopping 37 pounds and is 18 inches long! Why it was there is beyond me. Not sure how old it is, but it was really crusty and it smells terrible! It doesn't appear to be broken, so I can't imagine someone tossing it. Very strange find, to say the least!

I really need to stop dragging all these heavy iron relics back to my car!

find one more youll have buck teeth lol

Where are you located in CA Tim? That could totally be a tooth from one of the buckets on a long-line dredge especially if you live in one of the gold bearing areas of the state. Which is a good explanation of why it was in the water.

I agree, someone or company had to dredge the creek for whatever reason. The Corp of Engineers keeps a dredge in the waterway that runs through our city.

I bet you wished you never found that by the time you got back to your car ! Hope it wasnt a long haul.

You guys could be right. I found it right under a bridge, so maybe they needed to clear it out to keep the stream flowing correctly.

It was only around 200 feet from my car, but I had to go through lots of heavy underbrush to get back. Didn't bother me too much until I got home and weighed it! Sometimes you need to let things go and just leave them behind!

I think it is an arrowhead! Haha. Can you imagine trying to shoot an arrow with that thing on the end? 37 lbs!

Sell it. Protip: don't offer free shipping
