Today's Unknown Finds

Looks like a belt tip.
 

Belt clip? I'd agree.. Warrants some research...What ever it is it's cool! Congrats!

Belt tip? Perhaps. I really don't know. The other item looks like a button that is facing down. May want to turn it over and re-submit a photo of that. Could be something cool. Just my opinion.
 

The other side of the button appears plain. The few words i can read on the back say warranted and gilted. Any suggestions of cleaning without damaging it?

About the Button, If you will go to the top of the page and look under the Show heading, and go to the bottom of that column click on
research and Techniques . then look for BuckleBoy's post on cleaning and preserving buttons. That's the best help you can find.
 

The button looks like a campaign button from the 1830's.. I have one just like it. Depends on what is written on the back.. I can't make it out.
