Another gorgeous spring day so as we did my field yesterday Himself wanted to go back and grid the Stater area… so that is what we did, and yes He found another 🙄 xx

A gorgeous Roman Fibula brooch, lead seal, buckles, buttons, musket balls, lead bits, I got a scrappy Roman and a toasted coin, we also found 2 gorgeous little horse shoes.

They will be ploughing this field this week so possibly the last time we will be in this area for a while, so this week will I be back to studying maps! 😆 xx

Got confused as the OP stated Stater, instead of Silver Unit. (easy mistake.)

The fibula fits in well for a transition Site (Celtic-Roman), as its 1st AD. They were still making Celtic coins until roughly the middle off the 1st AD.
I like to see lots of this period fibula, gives me hope.

Glad your seeing the benefits of gridding, I'm so brain washed, I find it hard not to. Only don't when I'm scouting for Sites.
And yes the window is closing.....
