Today's Relic Hunt in the woods

My buddy Stan and I hit a site off the beaten track today. Tough hunting but still a fun outing. I found a few whatizits and a couple other doodads. The small flat button says warrented fine on it. The weight says 10 gram but it's hard to see in the picture. The copper is toast. Can't get nothing off it. Lots of glass, pottery, ceramics etc. Stan's coins are a 1889 indianhead and a 1917 wheatie.

Re: Today's Relic Hunt in the woods

Interesting stuff. The rectangular piece with the two prongs is a very old shoe buckle. That shows the site has some age potential.

Re: Today's Relic Hunt in the woods

Cool digs, the one looks like a weight from a scale of some sort. WTG on the finds.

That piece is actually a suspender buckle of later age.

The rectangular buckle without any works left is an 18th century shoe buckle. That is a nice piece.

1917 wheaty penny? Ehhhhhh.............
That's what it is a 1917 wheatie. What do you mean? Why was it there?

I think what plehbah was trying to convey was his general disdain for dirty wheaty pennies. ;D

I like the thimble and two prong buckle. Oh, I like the Indian and 1917 wheat cent too!
