TODAYS R&R TRACK FINDS!!

Hi all,

it was near 50 degrees in MI here today (probably some sort of record or close for THIS time of yr!). The ground isn't even frozen here yet and no snow! Usually at this time of yr. you need a jack-hammer to dig in the ground (literally)!

But anyway - I went out for a bit today downtown along the R&R tracks in an old section of town and detected a strip of land along side the tracks about 1 block long and this is the best I came away with!

.37 cents
a Sterling Fob
a buckle piece
and a flattened penny some kid probably set on the tracks like we used to do back in the day! lol

Nice sterling fob. It looks like it has a crown on the top, so I'm guessing it was made in and for the British market. The hallmarks should prove or disprove my theory (probably disprove lol).

Thats one awsome fob but i don,t think thats a british crown of their known kings and queens.

Re: TODAYS R&R TRACK FINDS!!

did anyone say "Fob" yet

Re: TODAYS R&R TRACK FINDS!!

That fob's a beauty! We've had good weather in AL lately too until the last couple of days - rain. But at least it's not 20 degrees, yet.

Re: TODAYS R&R TRACK FINDS!!

very,very nice fob there !!!!! :o ;D :o ;D 8) 8) :o >:( :o >:(

Re: TODAYS R&R TRACK FINDS!!

There appears to be an anchor hallmark on the fob, for Birmingham, England. The date letter seems to be an Old English, lower case "R"— r— which would indicate 1891-92. The lion passant mark is for sterling silver. Can't read the lower mark. but presumably it's the maker's initials.

Great find!

Re: TODAYS R&R TRACK FINDS!!
