Went hunting for a couple of hours today with Lowbatts. We hit a couple parks and wooded area that an old farm from the 20's sat on. we didn't find to much coinage but got some old reclics . here are some pics of the find

I looked this up it says Arcade 6 inch , P.A.T. May 25 , 1894 so I found out it is a Damper for a woodburning stove

a handle to a cast iron pot and eye hook for some old farming equipment or something

At another park after Lowbatts went home I found this and thought it was super cool even though its not old

congrats on your finds did you have to haul it out with a truck it looks like some big finds dennis

Very cool finds. Is that flat plate with the hole a damper?

No I think that is the top rim to a old milk jug. Yes it was heavy but i had room on my belt.
How do you date Axe heads?

I'm jealous of the pearl harbor trinket, and good choice on beer.

That does look like a damper, but it was not in the area where a chimney fall happened. It was most likely tossed there with other trash during some old rebuild of the original place. There was enough trash there to keep digging for days, which means there's probably stuff under the trash that's more attractive! But Aaron has a stronger back and more wherewithal than me for sure!

Appears that that axe was used for some real hammering on the backside, some deformation present. Probably not too old, but older than us who would have found it.

Could your Pearl Harbor piece could be a flattened cent?
The kind that you put in a machine and crank the handle
to flatten the cent for a souvenir.

Yes wolf it is a a flattened penny from one of the machines , but still think it is cool and it is from the machine at the Arizona Memorial in Hawii

I found a flattened cent earlier this year and they had used an I.H. cent

That is very interesting, what was the design on it where was it from? at the coin store by me you can by Indian heads with common dates next to nothing. So I think the next time I go to somewhere on vacation that will have one of those machines I will get a couple Indians for it.
I have a question about those machines. Why is it ok to do that to a us cent piece ? why is it that the government doesn't stop it if it is against the law ? or do you think that they have their hand in the cookie jar too. I think it is that . but oh well

Lewis and Clark Expo, couldn't tell where it was from. Government always has their hand in the cookie jar.
