Well today was my last hunt of 2011 and it was a pretty decent hunt. I started out detecting this 75 acre site where 1915 and 1931 houses are and then a old school use to be there on a 1910 map. After hunting that site 4 hours i didn't find anything except fill dirt all over so i went to another spot where an late 1800s house use to be. I didn't find anything except a 1930s overall button at that site, i think everything is too deep. Before giving up i stopped by another site and i detected this old 1870s or so house that someone still lives in and i found a nice Confederate .58 caliber minie ball there. It is most likely a confederate made minie becuase it was found at a confederate house ( all old houses are confederate around here). I also dug a 1940 dog rabies vaccine , old safe key and some wheat cents.
