Ahh Saturday at last, had some lovely sunny days this week, but the forecast for today was dull with the chance of thunder storms 😳 xx
We went back to the Race Course field, I left him to dig muskets and I ventured off into another field, this field has an old well and a Bronze Age Round Barrow! We got a few hours in before the rain and thunder hit! xx

Found a lovely Roman Fibula brooch, he found a fairly plain one! Couple of lead tokens, a little thing, squashed buckle, half a crotal bell, buttons, muskets, strap end and pipe stem, bobbin shot and pistol shot (?) a worked flint, 2 toasted pre dec coins, my stunning George 3rd and last but not least my short cross cut hammered 😍 xx

The sun has brought the first wild flowers out, these tiny pansies are so beautiful xx

10th pic, next to the pipe stem, is that metal or stone? Has the shape of a hatchet head. The George III is stunning. What denomination is it? Thanks for your post and the usual beautiful pictures.

Congratulations on the recoveries, really good day for getting it cut short.
2 Fibulas, the Bullhead 6 Pence, oh be gentle with the short cross. That crack looks close to going through.

Great finds and fantastic pictures! Thanks once again for sharing your and Himself's adventures with us. And, by the way, how was the basset meeting?

Awesome day! Absolutely enjoy your posts!

Ahh thank you xx Yes it’s metal, I think it’s a strap end 🤔 xx the George 3rd is a six pence I believe… the back is very worn tho xx

This looks like a Bronze Age celt. Is it metal? Usually these celts are cast and are made of copper but I’m not seeing much green color. Also the bit isn’t sharp. The shape is absolutely correct for a celt.🤷🏼
