Today’s Finds xx

Headed out to some fields we have been wanting to try for ever, there is an old quarry in field which predates the ironstone mining and it’s on the same side of the road as the alleged Roman Villa…

First off a little decorative piece, then a Bulls nose ring, pot leg, pot mend, spindle whorl, broken buckle, belt loops, spoon, spoon handle and piece of plate, broken thimble, livery button then a bizzare thing.. it’s hollow, but has lots of patterns on it 🤔… more buttons, and then a very battered Elizabeth 1st hammered found by yours truly! 😆 xx

Misty start to the day, but sun came out in the afternoon..and the Red Kites were out, along with a swarm of Geese flying over! xx

How big is the barrel off that toy gun? (Wild guess)

Finding either is a very welcomed recovery.
The hole in the stems will determine the age.

And you scrounged a hammered to keep the trend running. Yet again!

I vote pipe on the what's it.
A reed or other stem could be added to allow breaking it to share as was done with clay pipes. Or to have a cooler smoke.
And if the stem got tarred up , replace it.
Just the band around the larger end is what suggests that to me.
As with a soft material built cannon muzzle for reinforcement.

From the site where mists of time related in the mornings vaporous spirits suspending above the fields fade as the prodders of history approach closer.
