Reminds me of that old Steve Martin routine. "What the heck is that?" "What THE heck is that?" "Oh, I know what that is!" "It's a........What the heck is that?" Monty

Re: Today's Eyeball Find 2/2/06

Good eye, I think the value may be minimal however, it is a newer model. The older type or "antique" if you will had a broader design or "ring" which often had a small metal strip attached. Of which those were often used by the youths of the "tribes" of yesteryear as necklaces, wall decoration and doors by attaching them together in chain fashion using the strip of metal as the link. As yours looks to be cleaned and obviously not of the afore mentioned variety I would have to value it at well under a dollar.... ;D

Re: Today's Eyeball Find 2/2/06

Everyone here is missing the obvious truth of this object. It's a rare find indeed and copious free time is needed to unravel its origins, but after an insane amount of hours researching..I think I may have found out what this mysterious object is. The first problem is that it is flipped upside down. If you switch it around with smaller end facing the bottom, what you will instantly recognize it as a silver-plated silhouette of Homer Simpson. Note the bulbous forehead and baldness and just below a gaping smile and chin. The large object just above the bulbous forehead is none other than an idea box containing...you guessed it, a jelly-filled donut.

Mmmm....donut.

Mystery solved. I should get paid for this...sheesh. Put the lawyers away. This case is done.
