Today's Digs

Went back to the 1850's house today.... detected around the old barn and only had a few hits.... I don't know whats with this place... the area i searched was quite large and only came up with these.... I feel like i'm never going to get silver out of this yard!!!! Thanks for looking HH!!!

Does anyone know what the silver thing is? I think it is some sort of handle... its very heavy and has some sort of metal rod in it. Also no clue as to what the other thing is that looks like a handle..... it has threads in it... any ideas?

Here is the mark on the silver thing:

Re: Today's Digs

I am sure that house is only teasing you now, keep at it and the silver will come.

Re: Today's Digs

Good digs so far IMO.

I'm currently working a 1890s place that is just now starting to give up a few wheaties. I've been over the place quite a few times thus far but have run into a lot of what you are finding, odds and ends.

The few wheats I've found have been DEEP and in areas that I have been over a couple of times. Maybe you have the same problem I do with my place, layers of stuff...

Keep at it, the silver is there.

Re: Today's Digs

That handle thingy with the threads inside is from a 1905 Model A Ford. Tire stem/ air stem. Nice finds...Older deeper coins are awaiting you there...jgas

Re: Today's Digs

The handle thingy with the threads on the inside looks like a mid-19 century medicine vile used to hold pills. I have found a couple just like it and was as perplexed as you until I saw a picture of one in a Civil War relic book. Nice finds!!

Keep Digging!!
