Tobacco Box or ?

Went hunting in Caldwell Sunday with Burdie and MG. Found this item all folded up. I rinsed it and unfolded it the best I could. One thought it might be a snuff box, another a cigarette case, ?.
You can see the hinges and the letters J.T. carved on the lid.

Jim, It's possible. From top to bottom of red line where it would appear to be factory bent.

The only thing is the cig cases I've seen has some kind of arm that holds the cigs from sliding around. There's no place I can see that one was attached.

It looks like to me that those initials are not engraved, but scratched on there. Or the initial-looking scratches are just bends in the metal. Beats me... -Noodle
