Old house detecting the clothes line from garage to old tree. A couple pennies, nothing special.

Then on back side of 3" tree I got multiple 12-45, 12-46, 11-45 and others. These are normally dig
signals on the CTX. I could not go more than 8" in any direction without more multiple hits.

Dug a hit and pulled out an old match box car, actually 2 in same hole. The second I could pull out
with my had as it was in sand after about 3 inches on top.

The next hit was more of the same, then more of the same toy cars! I was really getting tired of
digging but I did not want to miss anything.

So after about a hour and a half of digging around tree roots here is the total.......18 cars + parts.
We have sedans, convertibles, ambulance, dragster, trucks and a bus.

18 cars has to be some kind of record! Thanks for looking.

What years do they date? Great find. A kid sure must have loved 'em.
Peace ✌

LOL that little boy must have been part mole. Start of a nice little collection and some interesting ones at that.

nice collection, when i was a kid (60's) it would take me months to collect that many match boxes!

Nice! Maybe he buried them for safe keeping!

What does a steady 12-45 normally indicate with a CTX on neutral ground?
Thanks
Peace ✌

Wow looks like a good start on a matchbox collection. Thanks for sharing.

12-44 to 12-46 can be silver dimes or quarters. Indicates conductive metal and high density.

It was hard not to keep digging. You know, the next signal is going to be something other than a toy car! LOL

Cool cars! I like finding them. Never found that many in one spot though!

I went back yesterday and found 8 more cars including one that is one of the older style silver travel trailers!

My perseverance did pay off though. There was a 62 Rosie in one hole. Checked the hole and off to the side was an edge of silver. 1920 Walking half dollar. Pretty worn but the
20 is plainly visible. First silver half for me.

Very nice finds! Congratulations on the silver half.

Nice car collection, and all from one site too! Sand boxes are often overlooked by many detectorists, but many have been in the same spot for decades and still hold treasure waiting to be found as you have proved. I can think of 2 gold rings that I recovered from sandboxes and a host of coins too. Cheers!!

those things always sound like silver or close to it on my GOLD, but they are kinda cool and the grandkids love em
