Found at old 1800’s dot in W PA. It is tiny, size of a cuff button. I can make out a few partial words but not enough to ID. I think it is made of lead or some alloy.

I’ve never found a bale seal, is there copy typically on both sides.

Interesting Guarantee in French is Garanti.

Being French text, “qualite superieure garanti” may be what it reads.

Well, I think the name portion of the other side may be “J. Mottet & Cie” which comes up as an olive oil company... so lubricants weren’t too far off!
The bottom line reads Grasse, where they were in France

Well done on the I.D.
There appears to be a hole in it for perhaps a wire,, that was used to attach it to a product.
