Tie tack, cuff link, or insignia? The piece beside the ring, looks like it may have gone in a button hole?

Warrant officer? I forget, but I do think it's a military insignia. My brain is mush lately.

Thanks guys I found it at old house site from 1800's along with other Civil War stuff and had hoped it may be Civil War, but not sure if they had that rank back then. We did have WW2 troops training through Tennessee, but we did not find any other stuff from them and usually when we find a bit from them we find some other signs. I will check the Good Conduct angle as that looks like it and maybe it went in a lapel hole with the button back it has.

That's definitely what it is, I have a couple laying in a drawer somewhere.
