Thursday Evening Finds xx

Headed back out to the new pea field… was a perfect evening weve had a little rain so digging was definitely easier!

Dug a few bits of lead… then this absolutely stunning Roman Fibula brooch popped up… just wow! 😍 after that not alot of other signals in the area.. but got some buttons, a lead disk, bit of metal pot (?) and then this patterned piece (?) xx

Not sure the size of the patterned rectangular piece-watch winder?

She certainly is😍, its the smallest one we have found… just 3cm (1.1811 inches) square… so not sure if its a childs .. or just a different period… need to do some research this evening!! xx but it sure is pretty 😆 xx

looks like the fibula needs to be coated with a wax or thinned glue solution to prevent it from crumbling away. Very cool find. I'm always fascinated with ancient Roman finds
