How long have you been in the USA ? Because they have been doing this ALL my life.
I'm thinking its illegal to do this in EUROPE but here its called EVERYDAY CAPITALISM !!
And I'm with you... the thing is that there are LOTS of stupid people out there who will see these adds and think ....
I have one or more of these symptoms it must be me that they are talking about...
Like the National Inquirer customer, they have an inquiry mind and they want to know... ha ha ha

I've lived my entire life in the USA. I've seen over the counter ads my entire life. But I didn't grow up seeing prescription med's advertised with the need to "ask your Dr. for a prescription" crap.

But I totally agree it will lead some people to self diagnosis with a symptom and react.

I just have antenna tv and watch evenings only. I see plenty of big pharm ads. I really get sick of the jardiance spots; extremely happy/jazzy people singing about diabetes! Way too happy. I rarely see groups of diabetics dancing in the grocery store.

Also, “tell your doctor if you have liver disease”. I would hope to he!! She already knows about it.

Advertising cost (combined with greed) is why we pay $200 in the USA for a prescription that costs $9 elsewhere. 🪛

I'm taking Jardiance, and it's CHANGED my life.... I've lost 30 lbs and counting and my blood sugar levels are normal again (diabetic) Back when I used to laugh at those commercials .... I never would have thought...
Of course I did not ask my doctor about it, but apparently a similar drug has been out for a LONG time and the VA gave me the Generic version, I take one every day, went from 235 lbs to 205 lbs in 4 months... sugar levels at fasting went from 150's to like 110's so although I didn't ask for it, I can't complain about it..

1. Who has side by side tubs?
2. If the drug works wouldn’t you be in the same tub as your lady?

GOOD POINT: I'll be 70 this coming August and thus far have been blessed with good health. I was taking NO prescribed drugs what so ever till last spring. I went in for my 6 month old person exam and was prescribed Jardiance before I left the appointment. I didn't question anything and admit I probably should have at the time. 6 months later I went back in. This time another person did the brief exam. I questioned "Why am I taking Jardiance"..? This person rattled of a list of reasons why it would be prescribed. Sooooo.... I asked again "Why am I taking Jardiance "..? Answer: "Well Dr. ? thought you needed it". "Right"... again I ask.. "Why am I taking Jardiance "..? And then back to the list of reasons... I was pissed. Next appointment is WITH THE PERSON WHO PRESCRIBED IT TO ME. I probably need to change Dr.'s if next appointment is the same and will.

Back 40 yrs ago a Dr. Prescribed Accutane for me.
I went to the library opened up a few medical journals.
Threw the script in the garbage.

Advertising of drugs then the long side effects in every ad.
Reason-The FDA rules
Pre approval the drug company has to list/state the clinical trial side effects.

AFTER: The door if transparency slams shut.

Just have a thought on this one.
It takes 7-15 yrs to get FDA APPROVAL for a zit medication.
It took just a few months to roll out the vaccine for the COVID.

Glad to hear it's helped you. You obviously needed it and it worked. I'm not at all against any drug as they all have a purpose. And I would take a prescribed drug and have with Jardiance being it. But when I inquired on the reason why I'm on it none was forthcoming. I'm not diabetic nor have been told I have a liver problem. I feel great (today) health wise and did before Jardiance. I've taken it for going on a year in March. I can't tell any difference nor have I lost weight. I was just astonished my last appointment Dr. couldn't look at my chart history and tell WHY it was prescribed. But I have nothing bad to say about Jardiance and I'm glad it worked for you...!

Ok you Canadian smartass.... I was trying to eat my breakfast when you posted this and I'll have you know it made it very difficult to eat and laugh. Now I'm NOT rich by any stretch of the imagination but let it be known.... I can easily afford a road trip to anywhere in Canada to address this...! And as you say.... no charge to you. I had a extensive blood work done during a hospital visit 3 months ago.

I paid for everything (paperwork) regarding what drugs were given to me over the 10 days.

Yesterday I went and had the other blood work done. $50.00 for a vitamin D test.
I can access the results online the same time as the Dr.

The visit to the GP I mentioned a couple if small issues.
Oh I can prescribe you this or that.

I would rather have testing done.
She won't have any testing done.
So I will pay for private testing out of my own pocket.

So much for the public based medical system. No kickbacks no testing.

There's always side effects with allopathic medicine.

Yes. I don’t doubt the value of the drug. But the commercial is way too much for me to tolerate. I’m aware of others who use it successfully. I’m glad you had such great results.

We have a niece on the wife's side.
Takes this 💊 for diabetes, for weight-loss.
Lost 70lbs and now is living in the emergency every other week for serious issues.

If she would eat 90% less take out and junk food the problem could resolve itself.
