Took my daughter to a home I have permission to detect but only as long as she is with me. She is 8 and she only stays interested for about 45 mins to 1 hour. Anyway in 45 mins we found 5 pennies, 1 nickel, 2 dimes: newest 1988 oldest 1969.

Found some other items mostly junk and then I found a signal right before leaving that I dug and popped out what I thought was just another roofing nail. It was too big to be a common nail but I did not see what it was until I got it home and rinsed it off. I do not know what it is exactly. So maybe someone here can tell me. Thanks.

Cool link. I didnt know those nails were worth that much. Like anything, you have to be "in the know." I should have checked all the old telephone poles that went down in hurricane Wilma.
They were there for the taking. The old creosoted poles have all been replaced now. :(
