Thought it was a woods hibernia, but?

Hey all dug this coin tonight at an old site, actually dug 2 out of the same hole but the other one is completely gone. I thought it was going to be a 1723 woods hibernia, but I can clearly see a 16 which looks like the first two numbers of the date. Can anyone help me with this. The front side has a bust facing to the right hand side of the coin, similar to a KG with some writing that I cant make out in about the 2 o' clock position.

I blew it way up on my computer, the 3 is defenitly there, and I see what you think may be a 1 but I dont think it is. I think its the way the corrosion is. But most certainly there is a 3 there. And the 3 looks perfect too, not like something that was added later. But what do I know?

You can see the "16" on your coin. That's a good old find!

You got the date spot on as well, I see the 93 on the other side

I also see what resembles 93 and is very close to the edge do to the edge loss.

I looked again and now can see what you see. Yep, same coin. (1692-1694) After I seen you called it a 1693 I revised my post above to add the dates, just incase you thought there was only one year. That is the case for the British (1694) but not the Irish.

It you compare the to the good coin, and look at the 9s, what you see as a 3 is probably the inside of the top right portion of the harp.

Certainly could be. I guess it doesnt matter. Im happy with what I have, glad to have an ID, and even better a readable date. Cant ask for much more then that out of a dug copper.
