Thought I was hallucinating when I saw this one in the scoop..haven't seen gold for

many a month!

Hi:hello:

Well, it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway....I MISSED ALL OF MY FRIENDS FROM THE FORUM!!!

These past months have been very hectic for me, but things are "cooling down" , so I'm able to get out for some hunting now.

Went to a "not so favorite" beach this morning and hunted at high tide starting with dry sand and working on down to the wet as the tide slowly receded.

Found a very thin silver "Roosie"...good start; then about 20 minutes into the hunt, the GT gave off a medium, but solid and focused sound...wasn't sure about the signal..this beach has tons of sinkers , but I dig all and was glad I dug this one..a 10K nice looking class ring.

It's been a long time since I scooped up gold, and I was so pleased to have found this ring.

Looks like "83" in pic, but with loupe it is definitely "63".

Here's some pics; thanks for looking

It's great to be back!

Lorraine

First one Ive ever seen too...very cool find.

Way to go, Lorraine! Could I ask what you cooked the ring in to get it so clean? I found an old class ring a few weeks back and I can't seem to get it that shiny. Thanks!

Hi Mi$ter G,

Here's my method:
I electrolyzed it in mixture of vinegar/ washing soda, and water; then I soaked it in Tarn-X and cleaned it with baking soda dipped in the Tarn-X; then I shined it with black chalk jewelers' rouge.

Beautiful finds Lorraine, and the Stainless ring - I'd be proud to find that, so congrats! It's good to see you back too.

And, thank you for posting your recipe, that will, I hope, come in handy :)

Great finds...glad to see you finding some gold!!!

That's a nice Chunk of Gold there Wow, and as always you make them look fresh!! Congrads! And I may see you on the beach in a few weeks. I will be in Shelton from the 15th to the 20th..............

Nice find to begin the season. Wish you continued success.

Yup, may see you on the beaches then.

Great ring Lori very happy for you and glad you're back. Hows Hank doing?

Hi Miami Fox,

Hank is doing well; he's hoping to golf this season .

Best to you in your hunting.

Lorraine

Great ring Lori very happy for you and glad you're back. Hows Hank doing?

Glad you were able to get out and even happier that you found gold, Lorraine. I haven't been able to get out but an hour or two the last four months, but found a ring at the river Tuesday even tho I had a catastrophic leak with my chest waders and the legs filled up with water. Marked 10K and I meant to leave it in the Tarn X for 2-3 minutes and then try to clean it, but left if for 3 hours and it looks kind of ate up. I don't know if it's gold plated or the real thing, but will know by the time I get back to the library next week. Good luck & happy hunting. Hope your husband is fully recovered from his accident.

Real nice finds Lorraine, Congrats and welcome back!
