Ok , I received a reply to a recent post by a long time member on here , which I might add has had some awesome finds ! So after thought , yes he is right sometimes there are some keepers hidden in the junk piles. So I decide to post all my junk finds from the last 8 or 9 digs with DHD . Usually when we are done for the day most of the junk stuff goes in the bed of my truck after we clean our bags out . So here is the junk let me know if you find any goodies in there .....

I see a cool wrench in the second picture on the left side, And what looks like it might be used to melt lead to pour into somekind of mold.... cool HH

second pic on the right there is a lever from a lever action rifle, that's pretty cool!

Second photo, on the left top, a horse shoer's tool for clinching nails. When the shoe is nailed on, the nail comes out of the hoof wall, it's clipped off, then clinched to hold the shoe on the foot. Below that is a buggy wrench, or at least that what me and my friends call them. The wrench/pin combination for the hub nut is totally different.

Second picture, bottom left corner, next to the horseshoe, I'd clean that wrench off to see if the're any markings. Might also want to check that Railroad spike, might be dated. Cool finds! (oh and you missed a wheatie in the first picture... )

Could very well be a model T wrench. I have friends that call it a buggy wrench, and it could very well be both. The same type of square headed nuts and bolts were used on them, and the carriage bolts had square nuts. Anyhow, I wouldn't throw it away. The first picture, top left, is that part of a snap for the carbine sling the cavalry used?

looks like a windrow rake wrench , i have one simlar for my 1923 ih rake

Im pretty sure the holes in that wrench are for turning off gas valves.....by any chance is it aluminum?

The reason for a gas valve wrench is the elongated hole fits the shut-off valve . I have or had a similar one in the fireservice and basically all pocket spanners will have it. If it is indeed aluminum then it was probably a gas servicemans....aluminum wont spark..................

There are a few interesting things in there, but one thing stands out immediately to me, and that is the item in the center of the first photo, above the pair of organ reeds. It looks like it may be a Civil War Era tompion. Could you post a better photo of it?

Nice Ivy Leaf piece, multi wrench and rifle lever,
Posting closeups of interesting items,
I think the two pieces in first photo are tinkers solder bars, some are marked.
is this a whistle in photo #2 ?
The trident (Dident? )item is another interesting but unknown object.
Cool Army & Navy club Knife handle.
Ive accidentally scrapped some keepers,
didn't know they were Hepplewhite furniture escutions
Am really glad someone pointed out an escution from a 1742 brown bess musket that otherwise would have been scrapped.

Better pics of the tompion , good call on that one I was thinking axle for toy car missing wheel ! And yes it was found next to a C.W battle field with a few out buildings. But I do believe you are right , and that wrench was also found near a battlefield with no buildings or houses present . What year do you think the wrench is from?
